Use of Defibrillator in Neonates Procedural Skills Course

This hands on course teaches use of the defibrillator for cardioversion, defibrillation and pacing in neonates.

Neonatal PICC Placement - Procedural Skills Course

Hand-on course teaches peripherally inserted central catheter placement including indications, contraindications, common PICC sites, equipment and supplies, insertion and securement techniques, as well as troubleshooting and follow-up.

Interpreting Laboratory Data in the Newborn

This course will review common laboratory tests in the newborn population, as well as correlate laboratory findings with disease processes, communicate an understanding of normal and abnormal lab values, and apply the knowledge learned.

Neonatal Arrhythmias: Interpretation & Treatment

This presentation will review the principles for identifying and treating neonatal arrhythmias. In addition, it will demonstrate the use of the defibrillator for neonatal cardioversion, defibrillation and mechanical pacing.

Interpretation of Neonatal Diagnostic Imaging

This presentation will describe basic radiographic terminology, discuss basic steps to reading an X-Ray, review common neonatal chest and abdominal x-ray results, and examine correct and misplaced hardware.

Neonatal Blood Gas Interpretation

This course will describe the physiology of acid/base balance, identify normal arterial blood gas values, review causes of acid base disorders, determine the oxygenation of a patient, interpret neonatal blood gases and their treatments.
